Canada is a land of breathtaking landscapes, overly polite folks, maple syrup, and rich cultural heritage. In my opinion, the best thing about Canada is the sheer amount of creative talent residing within our borders!
We are home to so many wonderful authors who have influenced the entire world.
Today, I’ve chosen three of Canada’s most famous authors to shine a spotlight on. Have you heard of them?
3 Famous Canadian Authors
Thomas King
King is a passionate advocate for the rights of indigenous and First Nations people, and his stories reflect this. He has written a range of works, including novels, children’s books, and collections of stories.
His notable works include A Coyote Columbus Story, Green Grass, Running Water, Medicine River.
Yann Martel
Martel spent a large part of his early life and adulthood traveling the world. He worked many different odd jobs before going to university, where he began writing plays and short stories.
His notable works include The High Mountains of Portugal, Beatrice and Virgil, and (famously) The Life of Pi.
Margaret Atwood
Does Margaret Atwood even need an introduction? She is likely the most famous author on this list, given the success of The Handmaid’s Tale TV show, based on her 1985 novel of the same name.
